Different styles of truck step bars

Ford Truck Step Bars

Cab-length nerf bars are generally the most common, spanning both of the truck's seating rows with two step pads on each side. In contrast, wheel-to-wheel truck steps run from the front seating row all the way to the rear wheel well. They feature the added benefit of a third step at the rear wheel, which makes it convenient to access the truck bed or load roof or utility racks. If you're looking for as much surface area to stand on as possible, you might want to consider oval side tubes. They offer a unique look and wider, more secure footing than can be found on the standard rounded-bar models. All of these different types of truck step bars add value and convenience to your truck, and naturally, they look great. However, if you're going for aesthetic appeal alone, you might want to consider sport tubes. Because their diameter is so small, they're not meant to support weight and are intended for decorative use only. Unless you want to admonish everyone who tries to climb on your sport tubes, you'll probably want to stick with the real deal for your cherished Chevy or Ford. Step bars are incredibly sturdy; each is able to support up to 300 lbs. at a time.

Will my truck step bars rust?

Not likely. TruckChamp.com's truck step bars are made of highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel. To be specific, they're made of T-304 or T-403 alloy. With the highest chromium and nickel content of any stainless steel, T-304 is the most commonly used and most corrosion-resistant. T-403 is nearly as corrosion resistant, but it was developed for its high impact strength. No matter which alloy comprises your bars, you won't need to worry about them rusting while they're a part of your vehicle. Rather, your Ford truck step bars will last through many thousands of uses.
